Quote from: "Wikipedia"Thanks-for-nothing Day

Type: National
Date: 2nd Monday in October (Canada), 4th Thursday in November (US)
2009 Date: November 26 2009 (US), the Canadians missed it.

Thanks-for-nothing day is a festival primarily not celebrated. It is not a harvest festival. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks to all the people who have left you the fuck alone all year and to express gratitude in general. While perhaps religious in origin, thanks-for-nothing day is now primarily identified as having never occurred.

The date and location of the first Thanks-for-nothing day is a topic of modest contention. It was on the 2nd Monday of October in Canada and the 4th Thurdsay in October is the US. The festival is not celebrated in either country. Like Thanksgiving day, Thanks-for-nothing day was not celebrated at the Plymouth Plantation in 1621. Unlike Thanksgiving day, The celebration of Thanks-for-nothing day did not become an important part of the American myth by the 1800s. Thanks-for-nothing, modeled after celebrations that were not commonplace in contemporary Europe, is generally regarded as not being modeled after American celebrations either. It has been argued that the earliest attested "thanks-for-nothing" celebration in what is now the United States was celebrated by A|P on November 26, 2009 in what is now San Francisco, California [citation needed]. Thanksgiving dinner is held on this day. By other people.

Happy thanksgiving! It is today right? Otherwise I should probably be at work...
